Sessions at this IPICS workshop include:

- Climate and environmental history of the last 2 millennia from ice cores.
- What do we know, and what do we want to know, about the last interglacial period from ice
cores?

- 1.5 Million Years of Polar Ice Sheet History.

- Climate Dynamics of the last 40,000 Years from Ice Cores.

In addition, separate planning sessions are to be held on the four IPICS projects 2 ka, NEEM/Last Interglacial, 1.5 Ma and 40 ka.
