Hydrological variability in C.A.

A new contribution to the PAGES 2k Network Climate of the Past Special Issue reconstructs hydrological variability to determine flood and drought patterns on the Pacific coast of Central America between 1640 to 1945.

Led by Alvaro Guevara-Murua, the authors demonstrate the potential for assessing societal impacts by drawing on documentary sources from the cities of Santiago de Guatemala (now Antigua Guatemala) and Guatemala de la Asunción (now Guatemala City). Access the paper here.
