2k leaders explain database

In an accompanying blog post connected to yesterday's Scientific Data paper release, PAGES 2k Network project leaders Julien Emile-Geay and Nicholas McKay explain what's involved in putting together a database of this magnitude.

The Future Earth blog article highlights the difficulties and nuances associated with storing paleodata, which influenced the creation of this open-access database.

Emile-Geay said the new database not only makes the lives of scientists easier, but also provides an invaluable window to Earth’s past which helps us understand how the planet may change in the future.
