PAGES 10th webinar: "(Paleo)-Earthquake and -Tsunami Science"

To celebrate the release of the PAGES Magazine on (paleo)-Earthquakes and Tsunamis in April 2024, PAGES is organizing a webinar in collaboration with some of the authors who contributed to the Special Issue.

The talks will be approximately 40 minutes, with a round table discussion at the end. 

The webinar will be taking place on 8 May (please note that this means 7 May for those on the US West Coast) at 05:00 UTC. The link to join the webinar will be available from 6 May on the calendar entry

Speakers will include:

  • Jamie Howarth (Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand): "Relationship between fault source, ground motions and marine turbidites emplaced by the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake"
  • Siddharth Prizomwala (Institute of Seismological Research, Gandhinagar, India): "Characterization of paleotsunami deposits along the western coast of India"
  • Belle Philibosian (U.S. Geological Survey): "Investigating past earthquakes with coral microatolls"

The webinar will be recorded and posted on the PAGES YouTube channel.
