Postdoc. Res. Assoc., dendrochronology/geochem. - Sao Paulo, Brazil

A Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dendrochronology and Stable Isotope Geochemistry is sought at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

This 24-month postdoctoral position is available to candidates with experience in tropical dendrochronology and stable isotope geochemistry.

It is part of a Sao Paulo Science Foundation (FAPESP/Brazil) and National Science Foundation (NSF/USA) funded research project that aims to reconstruct the climate in South America by using tree rings and speleothem records.

Specifically, the post-doctoral researcher will build chronologies-based tree-ring width and stable carbon and oxygen isotope records to assess the variability in the South American Monsoon System and to integrate past climate data obtained from annually resolved speleothem archives.

The researcher will have access to laboratory facilities at University of Sao Paulo to perform the tree-ring chronology and stable isotope analyses.
