The Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences of the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks applicants at the Assistant (tenure track) Professor level, effective Fall 2020. This is a 10-month appointment that allows supplementary summer salary from research funding. We are seeking to fill one position from candidates with expertise in the understanding of fundamental processes and dynamics within individual components of the earth system or the coupling between different components, such as the ocean, water cycle, land surface, cryosphere or biosphere. Candidates whose research specialization complements existing research programs in the department are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants must address in their application their ability to work with and instruct a culturally diverse population. Degrees must be from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. Position contingent on final budget approval.
