An Assistant or Associate Professor in Water Resources/Hydrology/Watershed Management is being sought by the Departamento de Ecosistemas y Medio Ambiente (DEMA) at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, Chile.

Logistics

This position would begin in August 2019. It is a full-time role at 44 hours/week and an indefinite contract (subject to periodic assessments).

The selected candidate will have $8.000.000 (Chilean pesos) as a starting research fund, while developing national/international applications (i.e. FONDECYT, FONDEF, CORFO grants).

Description

The university seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track position for an assistant/associate professor in Forest Hydrology/Ecology, Watershed Management.

Teaching responsibilities include courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. New postgraduate courses in Forest Water Resources/Hydrology/Ecology/Watershed Management areas will be welcomed.

Teaching in Spanish is mandatory.

Requirements

- A certified professional degree corresponding to a five-year length university program in either Forestry, Engineering in Natural Resources, Geography or other areas related to the position is mandatory.
- PhD degree at the moment of application in any relevant area related to this call, Forest Hydrology/Ecology, Watershed Management. Postdoctoral experience is desirable.
- Demonstrable research experience with successful grant application and publications on peer-reviewed journals of the field.
- Teaching experience is highly desirable.
