PAGES' SISAL working group will hold a community meeting online on 19 November 2020 at 8:00 UTC and 16:00 UTC.

Description

Over the past months, the SISAL Steering Group has been busy working on SISAL Phase 2, and invite you to a community-wide meeting to present and discuss some recent SISAL science and future steps.

Both meetings will run for approximately two hours.

Agenda

1. Long term continuity of the SISAL database. Is Neotoma the answer? (approx. 15 minutes)

2. Presenting a standardised monitoring datasheet for monthly resolution data - uses and challenges (approx. 15 minutes)

3. Regional coordinators: It is time to create a trace element masterlist so we can see what kind of data there is (approx. 10 minutes)

4. Where and when can we meet in person? There is funding, but for a change, that is not the problem! (approx. 10 minutes)

5. Two exciting scientific presentations:

a. Janica Buehler and Josefine Axelsson: Recent progress on data-model comparison using the last 1k dataset in SISALv2 (approx. 30 minutes)

b. Sarah Parker: A data-model approach to interpreting speleothem oxygen isotope records from monsoon regions on orbital timescales (approx. 30 minutes)

How to join

The meeting will take place on Zoom on Thursday 19 November 2020.

To accommodate as many people as possible, the meeting will be run twice, once at 08:00 UTC and once at 16:00 UTC.

Both meetings will be recorded, and an online platform will be provided to post comments, suggestions and ideas.
