The Paleoclimate Modelling Intercomparison Project (PMIP) has launched PMIP WINGS (PMIP Web-based INteractive Global Seminars), an online seminar series which the group hopes everyone will want to be part of.
The idea is to hold seminars approximately once a month- typically on the last Thursday of the month.
The format can develop but the plan is to start with two 20 minutes presentations plus discussion, finished within an hour, on Zoom.

Description
We will be using the seminar-slot this month to firstly provide an update about IPCC and CMIP7 time frame and then to discuss they mean for PMIP. This will involve an introduction to the PMIP-affiliated simulations that are currently included in the CMIP7 FastTrack.
We will finish with a discussion about what activities PMIP should be looking to facilitate to potentially contribute for the next IPCC. We have ideas for some possible activities, and will be looking to bring together volunteers to work on them.
I'd also like to collect ideas for other possible activities both before and after this online meeting. So please Masa (masa.kageyama@lsce.ipsl.fr) or me (c.brierley@ucl.ac.uk) with any suggestions. We're thinking of opportunities that have emerged since the last IPCC, but require a coordinated effort to deliver on their scientific potential. As example, you'll have seen the recent survey around the PMIP-carbon effort that has potential for insights around the move to emission-driven scenarios in the next IPCC (rather than concentration-driven ones like the RCPs/SSPs).

Future seminars
The group is always looking to fill up the rest of the seminar series, and looking for volunteers. You can present anything PMIPish. It can be science results, plans, work in progress, proposals for things that PMIP could do, or really any other things that may be of interest to the members of PMIP. Please email pmip-wings@lsce.ipsl.fr, if you would like to volunteer yourself or to nominate an early-career researcher whose work you feel deserves a broader audience. The group would also like one more organiser in the Americas, who can host a big Zoom meeting and handle the recording and upload.
